DESIGN MOTIVATION & MANUFACTURING

The Table-top modules are made from a composite material called Plyfix, which is a form of pressure hardened, recycled PET felt. After the felt is pressed into shape and hardened, any kind of shapes could be achieved to sever different usabilities of table functions. The aim of this project is to rethink the landscape of tabletop. We were trying to create depth and height on the table by using this recycled material. Gap dimensions were designed to accommodate various of stationeries, such as vases, pens, rulers, notebooks, PC screens.
